ABSTRACT

Mobile communications devices with video and audio recording capabilities have been around for a few years, offering us the ability to take snapshots, small videos and record audio snippets of everyday life. The quality of the recordings has often left something to be desired. Not good enough for home movies, family photos or professional voice recording, the functions were neat but not compelling, replacements for the equipment they emulated. But their true function—real time, conversational, and impromptu multimedia communication—has been revealed in moblogging.
