Mechanical electrical, plumbing and fi re protection systems can absorb thirty to forty percent of construction costs on a typical project making it a common target for cu ing costs even though temperature and humidity comfort may well be the largest complaint heard by management. Utility costs can also be a signifi cant component in the operating costs of a facility having a direct impact on the bo om line. Best to control these things early so they don’t control you later on.
