ABSTRACT

Streaming media quality is so widely acknowledged to be important that in 2003 there were at least three independent companies who specialized in measuring the quality of streaming media delivery. One company, Keynote, is considered the global leader in Web performance measurement, and its testing and management services recently added a streaming-media-based quality of service (QOS) offering. In 2003, streaming media quality measurement was so in demand that Keynote acquired a Toronto-based company called Streamcheck and integrated its offering into their suite of solutions. Until now, no independent third-party company ever offered a QOS product that allowed corporations to measure their delivery quality or that of a CDNs.
