ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on recent developments and perspectives of regional planning in Flanders, Belgium (see Figure 9.1). More specifically it will examine the problem of the unfolding of spatial planning on a regional level in general and will discuss the challenge of territorial integration. The case of regional planning in Flanders is understood as spatial planning on a regional level (strategic planning).
