ABSTRACT

There are many tools to assist workflow between After Effects and other software such as Apple Final Cut Pro, Maxon Cinema 4D, and 3ds Max. This chapter focuses on some tools that help users view video levels, see reference guides, and help workflow by linking between applications and footage types. A vectorscope and waveform monitor work together to analyze the characteristics and levels of a video signal. The vectorscope is an oscilloscope that displays chrominance information, or the color information of the video. The waveform monitor shows luminance information, or brightness of the video. Synthetic Aperture Test Gear has all of the testing tools users could possibly need for monitoring color, luminance, and even audio. Test Gear includes four video monitoring tools, three audio measurement tools, and two color tools. Not so much a guide as informative, Noise Industries FxFactory Frame Info, a plug-in in the FxFactory bundle, gives details on frame number, fps, frame size, aspect ratio, and more.
