ABSTRACT

The use of three-dimensional (3D) objects is frequently found in text and logos. 3D elements within After Effects deal with objects and shapes in 3D space within a two-dimensional (2D) world. This chapter examines how to create unique structures or shapes in Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator. One of the great features of Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator or Zaxwerks ProAnimator is that filmmakers can create their own shapes either within the plug-in or in Adobe Illustrator, and then modify and tweak it until it creates a unique, attention-grabbing object or structure. 3D Serpentine gets its thickness and positioning of path information from a 3D Solid layer. The chapter explores working with Custom Shapes in Photoshop, where filmmakers will acquire the flower shape. It then examines how to take a 2D picture of the earth and give it real 2D topographical shape with Digieffects FreeForm 3D Displacer or Digieffects FreeForm.
