Composition, blocking, and camera movement are the building blocks of your story. They’re intertwined like DNA. You cannot have one without the others, so this fi rst chapter begins with defi ning these three elements and showing examples of how shooters compose their image along the golden mean, how they tell a story through the blocking of performers, and how they utilize camera movement poetically.
