A few months ago, while I was in Cannes, I sat on a bee and got stung.

Subject: RE: Explosive Distribution

Lloyd,

Let me stop you right here, before this chapter veers into uselessness like several of the others. I have tried, repeatedly, to explain to you that we would like this book to be full of practical information. Your sense of humor is wonderful, and we think it adds a great deal of value to hear relevant stories from your past that illustrate current trends. However, as I have told you, often your stories, funny as they may be, tend to ramble into incoherence.

Our focus panels have emphasized that they would like some practical advice in this book, much as we suspected, yet you refuse to believe. According to the book outline, which you submitted back in January, this chapter is about distribution with a major studio. It is not about bees. Please remove all references to bees and focus on distribution.

Regards,

Elinor
