ABSTRACT
Introduction In this chapter we discuss the functions of the producer in
the corporate video setting. The producer is responsible for the overall video production, and he or she is usually the one who develops the budget; hires the scriptwriter, director, crew, and talent; and supervises the production from start to finish. Often the producer is also the director and scriptwriter, and in small organizations, he or she may fulfill additional roles. Since the producer works closely with the company executives, the successful corporate video producer has developed skills in business management and is aware of the culture of the corporation he or she is working with.
