Stands and rigging 4 Lighting technicians find themselves having to hang lights in all kinds of places, so naturally, over
the years, ways have been devised to secure a light almost anywhere. People are constantly inventing
and reinventing these devices. The basics are described in this chapter; check manufacturers’ Web
sites for the most up-to-date information (ARRI, Matthews, Norms, American, Modern Studio
Equipment, Versales, The Light Source, City Theatrical and many others; see also Appendix F).
