ABSTRACT

Screenwriting is an incarnational art (from the Latin incarnare , which means “ make fl esh ” ). You’re creating characters that fl esh-and-blood actors will bring to life on the screen. This is the very heart of the art. And no matter how snazzy your story and structure may be, your screenplay will suffer (so will your audience and your writing career) if you don’t fl esh out your characters and bring them to life on the page.
