ABSTRACT
Second, the script is an approval and budgeting tool for the producer. Regardless of all other documents that have been written for the project, not until the script is in his or her hands can the producer truly approve or disapprove the writer’s concepts and visualization. Only in the script are the actual scenes and final dialogue or narration present as a complete communication entity. Moreover, only with the script in hand can the producer budget the production with complete accuracy. Although a treatment can tell him or her what types of locations and actors will be involved and provide a general idea of the extent of that involvement, only the script lays out those and all other aspects of the production in complete detail.
