ABSTRACT
As with the previous chapter, we will discuss the traditional editing processes in the present tense. Keep in mind, however, that many aspects of these traditional processes are negated by contemporary, nonlinear editing systems. In the next chapter, having laid the foundation for understanding the editing process, we will move on to modern systems and the student will clearly see how much of a revolutionary improvement the new systems are.
