ABSTRACT

Production is the process of recording all of the sounds and pictures called for in the script in a manner appropriate for use in the editing process.

Undoubtedly, an image of glamour is associated with film and television production. Crowds gather quickly wherever a location shoot is in progress. Bystanders wonder aloud where the stars are or what commercial or movie is being shot. Children and adults alike attempt to slip into the background of a shot in hopes of later seeing themselves on television. Anyone who has actually worked on a production, however, will attest to the fact that the word grind is often a much more accurate description than glamour. Simply put, video production is work-long, hard, often frustrating work. At times, it also involves enormous amounts of pressure, especially for the producer and the director.
