If complex enhancements are required, however, such as adding multiple sound effects or filtering and equalizing sounds, the audio mixing capabilities in the edit suite may not be the most economical or effective way to accomplish the work. Mixing sound in an online editing suite can become quite expensive, especially when the mixing requires more than a simple addition or change. When such requirements exist, by virtue of either volume or complexity, an audio sweetening session is normally arranged and takes place in a room dedicated strictly to sound.
