The differences between analog and digital cameras are subtle but important. These differences and comparisons will be explained later in this chapter. Film cameras also have benefited from the increased use of digital circuits. A professional film camera will have a video assist (video picture output) originated by one or more CCD chips. In addition, time-code signals may be recorded in a digital format for easier conversion in postproduction.
