ABSTRACT

Sound editing is an extremely important stage of postproduction. Sounds can breathe life, realism, emotion, and power into visual images. Sounds can also develop their own form of expression apart from visual images, and they can be edited before, during, or after visual editing. The fact that sounds and images can be edited in tandem or independently of each other allows for considerable flexibility in terms of editing different types of sound and different combinations of sounds and visual images.
