ABSTRACT

A straightforward definition of 24p is a format that has a frame rate of 24 frames per second and is progressive in nature. 24p has become associated in the television broadcast industry with the HDTV format of 1920 pixels by 1080 rows (1920 × 1080), progressively scanned at 24 fps, with an aspect ratio of 16:9. However, when we refer to “24p”, we could easily be describing the oldest motion picture acquisition format—film.
