ABSTRACT

Books like this one can provide a solid introduction to a subject and can serve as a handy reference source, but eventually the time comes to step out into the real world and put your book-learning to practical use. To bring you as close to that point as possible, we have assembled five scenarios depicting common telecine projects, as narrated by a telecine colorist. These scenarios are not descriptions of a single, specific job, but rather are composite events that incorporate the experiences of hundreds of hours in the telecine suite. They are written in logbook style, approximating the notes kept by many colorists to record important information as the job progresses. Any resemblance to real events, people, or facilities is purely coincidental.
