ABSTRACT
CCDs require a specialized manufacturing process dedicated to their production. This leads to high manufacturing costs but does arrive at a situation where the CCD sensors usually have a very high quality output, are very sensitive and the output will have a very low noise content, especially in the part of the image dealing with shadow detail.
