ABSTRACT

The Color Correction effect category contains more effects than any other single category in all of After Effects—29 now, to be exact. The Tint effect is the simplest tool for the job, and the Tritone effect is a little more powerful and very similar. The Colorama effect is the most complex and powerful tool in this chapter by far, and it is also the most advanced tool for colorizing footage in After Effects. Perhaps the most worthless effect is the PS Arbitrary Map effect. The Auto Color and Auto Contrast effects are quite similar. They both attempt to automatically fix color and contrast, respectively. The primary purpose of Auto Contrast effect is to adjust brightness values, which it does fairly well. The Brightness & Contrast effect is another effect that is also seen in Photoshop. The difference is that Adobe revamped the Brightness/Contrast adjustment for Photoshop CS3.
