ABSTRACT

In a globalizing and internationalizing world, it is not only business and industry that are changing. Education, too, is caught up in a new world order. Growing numbers of school and university students are studying overseas. Universities are seeking international collaboration. International education agencies and consultants abound. Above all, the global transmission of policies and practices increasingly ignores national and cultural boundaries. The business of education is fast becoming just that—a business—operating on a globalized and internationalized scale. Multinational universities and schools are likely to be a significant development—in one form or another—in the twenty-first century.
