ABSTRACT

Xpress Pro allows the people to output their sequences and footage in a number of ways. Even if the people decide not to include bars and tone in their digital cut to videotape, it's a good idea to put them on their sequence for calibrating Xpress Pro with their deck. The formatting of a tape can vary by program, including the length and duration of bars and tone. However, some audio post houses prefer using a variety of tones at different frequencies. SMPTE Bars, the most commonly used test pattern, is imported to Xpress Pro as a PICT file. Sometimes, however, Xpress Pro does not properly identify the deck or camera. The deck templates contain information about how to control the most commonly used decks. The difference between assemble and insert is that with assemble editing, the tape only needs to be blacked and coded up to the starting timecode.
