ABSTRACT

After you have edited your fi lm, the output of your fi nal program, or “print to video” function, is just as straightforward. This tape of your fi nal edit becomes your fi lm master. For the most part, people will master on the most robust format they have access to. DVCAM, DVCPRO, and DigiBeta formats are better than standard MiniDV for mastering because the tape is thicker and dropouts are less likely. Because there is always some data compression involved, DVDs are not a mastering format.
