ABSTRACT
Whether you’re shooting film or capturing media, the military analogy with a film production is justified. On any shoot there is a clear-cut goal as specific as any military target (it’s on the call sheet with your name on it), and the first AD is the lieutenant in charge of logistics to ensure that the goal is achieved in the most efficient manner and with minimal casualties to your troops. The general/director is often in a tent at a remove from the battlefield, while you call the charge and lead the battalion into the breach, again and again and again.
