ABSTRACT

Selling vehicles to the public and then providing the support services that maintain and repair those vehicles is a major industry in industrialized countries such as the United Kingdom. Motor trade businesses exist in many forms, from very large companies with many branches, to small businesses operated by the owner. The structure of a multiple branch company is likely to be far more complicated than that of a small company (firm) employing two or three people. However, because these firms are all engaged in very similar work, there are certain features that are common to them all. It is these common features that are covered here.
