Profiles and true shapes When the HIDE command is used with a solid composite, the model is displayed with hidden line removal – as expected. From an ‘engineering viewpoint’ this is not what is wanted, as the front, top and end views should have lines which represent hidden detail. AutoCAD R2000 allows this hidden detail to be ‘added’ to a solid model with the PROFILE command and when used, new layers are automatically added to the existing drawing.
