ABSTRACT
The items of ground equipment needed for MLS
are the azimuth and elevation transmitters and a
DME navigation aid. This basic system can be
expanded to provide lateral guidance for missed
approaches. Both azimuth and elevation
transmissions are radiated on the same frequency
with a time-sharing arrangement.
