ABSTRACT
The aim of this unit is to provide students with the opportunity to experience the necessary processes involved in undertaking a design project and arriving at a design solution. The design project will include the preparation of a detailed design specification and the production of a comprehensive design report. Computer technology is used extensively in engineering design and students are expected to demonstrate an ability to use appropriate hardware and software as part of the engineering design process.
