ABSTRACT
Anything smaller than a full wig is a hairpiece. What distinguishes one hairpiece from another is where on the head it will be worn, how it is made, length of hair, or the hairstyle it is used to create. There are many varieties of hairpieces for sale at the local mall, beauty supply stores, and online wig stores. The biggest reason for making a hairpiece or partial wig is be able to make it the exact color and texture to match someone’s own hair. In some theatrical lighting situations, differences in the color of the performer’s own hair and the piece may not be noticeable. In fi lm and TV, any difference in color between performer’s hair and that of a hairpiece is very evident.
