ABSTRACT

The current generation of sound designers seem to be remarkably comfortable with sophisticated audio production tools that provide an extraordinary vehicle for creating music and soundscores. Many of these scores are being reproduced through equally sophisticated theatrical sound delivery systems. Once out of reach to most, now computers, digital audio workstations, and software like Digidesign’s ProTools, Apple’s Logic, or Mark of the Unicorn’s Performer are used by almost every designer or composer to produce their work. Playback systems such as Meyer Sound Laboratories ’ Matrix3 offer unlimited possibilities for presenting the work of designers and composers.
