ABSTRACT
Ideally in new premises, automatic doors should be fitted and where this is not possible, power-assisted doors should be fitted. For power-assisted doors, the operating panel/button should be placed at an accessible height and location and clearly visible through the use of contrasting colours and tone and incorporate a tactile element. The direction of opening should be clearly indicated through the use of appropriately contrasting markings and signage.
