ABSTRACT

Much of what we do in entertainment control deals with systems of components, devices, or systems made up of other systems. But just what is a system, anyway? According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a system is, “A group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming a complex whole.”1 This is a workable definition for our market, since any control system has to interact, it is by definition interrelated, and it’s interdependent in that the whole is greater than the component parts.
