ABSTRACT

Here, Islamic politics is a throwback to the usage of religion as a political argument, either by the society itself, notably in its brotherhoods and religious associations, or by the state where legislative power is inspired from the Koran for the family code, all while using Muslim communities and their leaders as electoral pawns for the acquisition or the maintenance of political power. In an equally ambiguous context, secularity and religion come together and become the subject of periodic debate.
