ABSTRACT
The emphasis on ecological and “green” issues is having a profound effect on how people think about lighting control. Since “artificial” lighting is responsible for using a very large proportion of electricity generated, it is natural to think that much energy, and greenhouse gases, could be saved if unwanted lighting could be switched off automatically.
