ABSTRACT

The increasing size and complexity of automated lighting systems is due in part to the exponential increase in computer hardware and software capabilities. Lighting design software, off-line editors, and computer visualizers help to design, manage, and program large lighting systems with thousands of parameters quickly and effi ciently. We have come to rely heavily on these tools, so much in fact, that the industry would be crippled without them. Not only do they simplify and speed the task of designing and drawing lighting plots, but they also save valuable time and money in pre-production and education.
