ABSTRACT

By contrast, this friend was an only child with no younger cousins and little exposure to children younger than himself. He had no idea that babies were born without a full set of teeth (which is a horrifying prospect for any breast-feeding mother). My friend is a very well-educated man who teaches law at Georgetown University. He just had not had the opportunity to learn much about babies before his exposure to my nephew. Childhood has a learning curve to be sure. However, it’s a learning curve that photographers must be aware of before placing expectations on a child.
