ABSTRACT
Because the physically handicapped are also often learning disabled, the specialized teacher must not only confront the lack of normal mobility in the child, but also the mild to severe impairments towards normal skill achievement. Common symptoms of both disabilities thus combine to make the teaching task an exercise in extraordinary patience. Some symptoms include hyperactivity–most often associated with learning disabilities–impulsivity, the lack of attending behavior, and the like.
