Making an Effective Photograph that Communicates An effectual photograph can pictorially awaken the mind, arouse curiosity, and communicate an experience to another person. Such a photograph allows viewers to recognize and connect with the subject and has its own history-past, present, and future-that does not require any outside support. It can stand alone, as a statement, and will convey something in a way that would be impossible to do in another medium.
