ABSTRACT
In the old days chemists habitually made broad assertions concern ing photo chemicals which may have owed more to witchcraft than to reasoned science. Today, careful scientists shroud even conceptually simple procedures such as pH measurement in disclaimers. This makes it difficult to discuss developing chemicals authoritatively.
