ABSTRACT

FILM DEVELOPING T I M E CHART Relying on published times can often lead to disappointing results. For example, some current data sheets recommend different times for D-76 and ID-11, even though these two formulas are identical. Minor variations in manufacture cannot account for differences as high as 30%. This alone indicates the intrinsic untrustworthiness of published times. (ID-11 and D-76 should have identical developing times, whether they are mixed from scratch, from Ilford’s commercial product, or from Kodak’s commercial product.)
