ABSTRACT

Wide angle lenses are capable of focusing very close, but they are not a close-up lens.

It’s a toss up between the two most popular topics of underwater photography. On one side there is close-up and macro; on the other side, wide-angle. The memories of being there in the midst of it all can be brought to life even more through wide-angle photography. That may be the reason why wide-angle photography is probably the most popular form of underwater photography today. Images of divers interacting with marine life or entering a huge, intact shipwreck are the stuff dreams are made of.
