ABSTRACT

There is probably no issue in digital imaging which generates more debate and heated discussion than that of colour management, i.e. the control of the colour of images from capture through to output. Of course. the issue was never straightforward in conventional photography. Different film has its own characteristics, and some subjects are renowned for being difficult to photograph in colour correctly. One major difference between film and digital imaging, though, is that the printed image can be compared with the original transparency - this, of course, is not possible with a digital image on disk!
