ABSTRACT

It’s almost impossible to butt the joins close enough t o obtain a print that could be successfully retouched.

This particular image shot by The Frith Company is part of a collection rescued from destruction by photographer John Couzins. The Frith Company was the pioneer of the modern postcard. John has always had a fascination for large format photographs and has a beautiful wooden 10 x 8 camera made by the Gandolfi Brothers shortly before they died in the mid-1980s.
