ABSTRACT

For professional and serious amateur photographers alike, producing a quality print is the payoff for all the work done in Lightroom up until then. Whether you are printing several dozen 4 6 images of your vacation, producing a package of portraits for a client, or making a single large fi ne art print, the ultimate goal is producing a printed image that matches the one appearing on your display. The Print module provides the tools to print your image (obviously). In addition, it provides a wealth of composition and layout tools that allow you to do a variety of tasks, from printing multiple copies and sizes of a single image and making contact sheets to creating cool photocompositions like the one shown in Figure 10.1 . More important, if you are like most digital photographers, when it comes to putting ink on paper you have had more than your share of disappointments making the colors in the printed photo match or appear as vivid as the image displayed on your monitor. In this chapter you will not only learn how to use the tools in the Print module to compose and print your photos but you will also discover how to troubleshoot and correct images that don’t print as expected.
