ABSTRACT

The D60 uses Secure Digital (SD) memory cards. SD cards come in two varieties: SD and SDHC. The D60 can use both types of cards. SDHC are higher capacity cards than the regular SD cards. SDHC cards start at 4 GB capacities and currently go up to 16 GB. On SD memory cards there is a slider on the left edge which has “Lock” written next to it. If the slider is in the up position the card is in “write” mode and you can save pictures to it. If you move the slider down, the card will be locked. If a locked card is inserted into the D60 you’ll see the following message when you turn the camera on: “Memory card is locked. Slide to “write” position.” Whenever you get a new memory card you should format it in the D60 before you take pictures with it. To format the memory card to the Menus, choose the Setup Menu and then select Format Memory Card. You can also format the card when you want to erase all the photos on it.
