ABSTRACT

T he image adjustment controls discussed in the preceding chapter looked at basic image enhancements. Now we shall get to grips with the fine-tuning aspects of the Photoshop image adjustment controls, and more specifically, the methods for correcting and enhancing color. Color correction is just like tonal correction, but when corrections are applied to individual color channels, these will allow you to affect the color balance in an image. But before all that it helps to understand the relationship colors have to each other. You may find the color wheel shown in Figure 5.1 a useful guide to refer to when applying a color correction. For example, if you want to make a picture less blue, by looking at the diagram you know you will need to add more yellow because yellow is the complementary color of blue.
