ABSTRACT
T his chapter shows you some of the special things you can now do in Layers and how these features will be of use to image makers as well as designers working in graphics or web design. Layer effects enable you to make multiple (and reversible) Photoshop layering actions. This is a wonderful tool with which to automate the application of various Photoshop effects like embossing or adding a drop shadow. Layer effects can be used in various ways: applying effects to an image element on a layer; text effects with a type layer; and creating special image lighting effects such as glows and shadows around a subject.
