The first part of this chapter is intended for complete beginners to Painter and contains a series of simple exercises to guide the user in identifying the key areas of the workspace prior to starting Chapter 2. If you have used a previous version of Painter or are experienced in other digital imaging programs such as Photoshop, you may wish to skim or skip this section.
