Mahayana Buddhism we have referred to already i.e. the role of Amida Buddha in Pure Land Buddhism. See note (7) above, and note the suggestions of some scholars that Pure Land Buddhism in its origins, may have been influenced by Nestorianism and/or by Gnosticism.
